Priscilla
Lawrence

Priscilla Lawrence is Executive Director of The Historic New Orleans Collection (THNOC). THNOC is a museum, research center, and publisher dedicated to preserving the history and culture of New Orleans and the Gulf South. In 2018, New Orleans will mark the City’s Tricentennial anniversary; as part of the celebration, THNOC will feature a comprehensive new exhibit: New Orleans, the Founding Era.
In this interview, Priscilla describes some of the fascinating and rare artifacts on loan from European archives that will make the exhibit a one-of-a-kind exploration of the earliest days of New Orleans. For the Tricentennial, THNOC will also open the organization’s largest expansion to date, the beautifully restored Seignouret-Brulatour Building at 520 Royal Street. Priscilla also discusses Making New Orleans Home: A Tricentennial Symposium. This four-day event will feature a panel of distinguished speakers who will examine how the concept of home has had a central place in New Orleans’ cultural history. For additional information visit
